Arbor ascent is a company which specialises in tree felling, tree surgery and associated arboreal work. To date all work done has been as a result of strong ‘word-of mouth’ marketing – a firm testament to the quality of work we do, and our focus on client satisfaction.
All work is carried out by trained professionals who ensure a tidy removal and “thinning out” of all types of trees. Our team follow proper procedures to ensure the survival of trees by using specialised cuts when felling trees. We are experts at sculpting trees to keep them neat while preserving a natural flow that stimulates healthy tree growth.
About us
Arbor ascent is an owner-operated business with solid experience in forestry and specialized tree felling. All employees are fully trained and practice strict safety procedures based on the FIETA industry standard and all equipment is fully tested and compliant with all relevant industry safety requirements.
Lee Mager is fully SAFTA qualified and all cuts are performed according to industry best practice.
When work is carried out we ensure the site is organised. Nobody wants a mess, and we find that everything runs smoothly when timber, brush wood and foliage are organised into piles. Large branches are cut into firewood pieces and stacked out of the way, while smaller brush is stacked into separate piles ready for removal. When the job is complete, your space is cleaner than when we arrived.
Being the Eco warriors that we are, nothing goes to waste. Brush wood and foliage is always recycled.

About Us
Shaun started Tree felling with a friend whom together began a tree felling business in early 2001, whilst doing other things amongst owning restaurants and other business ventures, he saw a gap in the tree felling industry, with a huge demand in the tree felling business. There were too many tree fellers willing to come out and do a project, with most of them not having the correct experience and knowledge about trees and the potential of trees and vegetation in our environment, and especially how to price the job at hand accordingly.
There are too many so-called tree fellers who just are not reliable and honest for such an sort after service. We are trustworthy and efficient.
Shaun and Candy lee(wife) started a small team, got the adequate training with rope access and chain saw operating and safety courses and started the business with an ever growing demand for an honest team of workmen. There is such a huge demand for a good, inexpensive tree felling company. With the yearly growth of the business we started incorporating different teams to offer additional services such as landscaping, roll on lawn, multiple teams to do tree felling projects as well as offer each client additional professional services to accommodate them in their gardens, to either upgrade, down scale, remove invasive species, fell fallen trees, remove dead trees, fell dangerous trees,clean up gardens, offer ideas and knowledge to sustain a better understanding of trees and their growth potential.
To date we have a ever growing business with staff that understand our business ethic and respect for our surroundings.

We are a professional tree felling business that offer a professional tree felling services. We have a client base of more than 16000 very happy clients which make use of our services at their convenience. We service some of the biggest hotel groups in and around the cape peninsula.
We’ve got 16 years working experience with the rope access method of tree felling. During our working history, we’ve worked on some of the scariest trees in the cape peninsula region. We’re Honest, reliable and believe in doing the job right the first and every time. We provide a 24 hours a day, seven days a week service. We do our utmost not to cause damages, but since accidents do happen, we are prepared for anything as we are a problem solving team and use initiative.
We are proud to say that we have safely felled/removed some of the largest trees in and around the cape peninsula, with no damage at all. Stump removal is labour intensive and requires skill and strength to complete correctly. In certain areas there are water mains/electrical cables/ pool pipes/irrigation pipes, new and old, which is under ground, We’ve come across manholes under stumps, pipes and cabling running through stumps and roots. We are however very cautious whilst removing tree stumps. With regards to stump removal, there is a huge difference with palm tree stumps and normal tree stumps. Therefore there are different techniques used for removing tree stumps. The objective is to remove the stumps to avoid growth or re-growth, so when we remove stumps, the roots remaining will decompose by themselves over a period of time. Palm tree stumps are very fibrous, so we remove the bulk of the stump debris, in some cases such as 1.2-2.4 meter stumps and leave the roots behind to decay and become compost. In some instances we have to remove some paving to gain access to the stump/stumps. It is then for the customer to arrange for a paving contractor to re-pave area.
We specialise in palm trees Dangerous and hazardous tree felling. We have worked very hard to get where we are today and do not believe in having unhappy clients. We strive to provide and maintain the best service we can possible render. If there are any small problems, we are more than happy to resolve them as conveniently as possible. We do offer payment options as we understand the difficulty of affordability at times. We offer the option to do the project in stages, or we can do the project and you may pay/settle the amount over 2 to 3 months once a deposit of 50% has been paid.
Trees are often planted in the wrong place/space when they are small, therefore futuristic planning is advisable to avoid problems. We offer landscaping advice as to where to plant trees, especially trees which grow into huge trees with huge root systems. Trees should always be planted 1.5 – 2.5 meters away from pools/boundary walls/foundations to avoid problems in the future. We are happy to assist in any way possible, always available to offer answers to questions, concerning trees/root systems and growth potential. The environment is our priority constantly and strive to keep our surroundings as green as possible, thus said we are in the process of starting our very own nursery ,with a wide variety of species of plants/trees and other vegetation, to offer all our clients a better option of replacing unwanted trees etc. We are based in Table view for the reason that we believe in getting to site as early as we possibly can, from Table view to most areas it takes us between 25 minutes to 45 minutes depending of the distance to get to site. The peak hour in other areas confines us to Getting to site after 10am. We prefer getting to site earlier to get the job at hand done.
The environment is our playground, it is our responsibility to look after our surroundings to ensure a better life for our children and the generations to come.
